I really shouldnt have a wool shop so close by, its so tempting to pop in regulary and buy new bits. I'm not very good at knitting, but love to crochet and also collect yarns to use in my textiles too. I bought a rowan pattern book this week and although most of the patterns are for knitting theres a couple of crochet ones. I mainly bought it for a small spread of homeware items like cushions, bunting and blankets that were featured. I'm hoping to make some similar designs in crochet with the colours they used. I think the bunting is my favourite!

thats me these last few weeks. I've been very tired and drained since christmas. lots of little things going on in January, im just trying to keep up. I'd like to post more here and have a proper think about my shop soon and what I might do with it this year. Sales have been very quiet for months now and I'd like to change the idea of the shop but not sure what will work.

I am weaving in my textiles class! I am now in the second term of my AS level evening class, and enjoying it very much. I'm excited about my new project as I'm going to take the fashion direction and make jewellery for my unit piece. I'm using inspiration from karen monny's beautiful accessories.

I've been on ebay today and bought a mini peg loom & weaving kit. I'm looking forward to them arriving in the post soon!

Theres lots of little & bigger things that I hope for this year. I will write them down soon so I can remember and remind myself often. My new year has started quite quietly and relaxed. One thing I would like to do & have started is to record each day with a photo, I will post them over at flickr as I go along :)

I think I found most of these on sunny style, a lovely japanese webshop. It would be lovely to try and make some similar decorations, I especially like the little cone christmas trees! I have a crochet pattern I bought on etsy for making cute christmas trees so I must start a few soon. I always get excited about decorating for christmas, we try and put everything up for my birthday on the 12th, so not long now! lots and lots of lovelyness over at etsy. I bought this sweet print & 2 others from the black apple. I had been admiring them for some time so am so pleased to finally buy a couple! some more lovely artists that are in my favourites:

A few more things I've bought today: moo mini cards & pretty bhs kitchenware. The kitchen pieces were all half price and I collected up a small selection similar to the ones pictured below. I might have to go back for another rummage in the sale.

I'm excited to see how my mini cards turn out, I was going to use my flickr photos for them, but then discovered the designer series and fell in love with the blanca gomez illustrations. I have 100 little cards on the way all with these sweet illustrations on :)

have been quite busy for me! I had a lovely week in norfolk in september, very cold but beautiful all the same. At the beginning of october i started a textiles evening class, I'm really enjoying it so far and love that our first project is cake themed! I've had to do a bit of research for the first unit and thought id share a couple of lovely designers I found:

I'm currently sitting up glued to ebay watching some auctions i have finishing. Its exciting seeing what things go for, sometimes very little and sometimes a lot more than you'd expect. I have been slowly packaging things up ready to send out on monday.

this is my very first post! I'm excited to have a new blog after using livejournal on & off for a few years. I run a little shop called she loves stars, love photography & flickr, craft, textiles & crochet. I hope to use this as a small outlet for things i love & find inspiring. I adore interior design, particularly vintage styles & long for a little cottage in the country one day.
